Why Jennifer?

In 1997 this website was created as a mark of respect and admiration for this remarkably talented actress. At that stage in her career Jennifer was still very much under-appreciated as a serious actress. She had been acting since her early teens but in the mid 1990s her career was undergoing a quiet phase. Her relatively small and very loyal fan base stemmed from her early performances in films such as "Labyrinth", "Career Opportunities" and "The Rocketeer". A significant amount of Jennifer's popularity was unfortunately prompted purely by her physical beauty, and many web sites at the time were primarily aimed at catering for this.

The focus of this site is on providing a comprehensive archive of Jennifer's career, particularly her earlier career in the 1980s and 90s. It is not intended as a repository of any and all photos, latest news and gossip. There are plenty of sites that cater for that and we remain committed to providing a site that emphasizes quality over quantity. We are not here to update the site every 24 hours or bury you in a mountain of Coppermine albums.

All information on this site has been gathered over the last 10 years, and many of the articles have been transcribed ourselves. The scans that are provided with watermarks are from our personal collection which has also been gradually built up for many years. Whilst we would have preferred not to have to watermark them, it was necessary due to the mutlitude of Jennifer sites that have appeared in the last few years, many of which have taken our scans and re-marked them as their own.

Our ultimate aim in creating this site and keeping it online all these years is to provide a resource for fans which will help foster an appreciation for Jennifer and her work. We hope that we have been successful in this. In the intervening years Jennifer has appeared in a succession of powerful and varied roles, in films such as "Waking the Dead", "Pollock", "Requiem for a Dream", "A Beautiful Mind" and "House of Sand and Fog". Her record now clearly speaks for itself, with the appreciation of her acting talent growing every day. It has been a pleasure to watch her career blossom and lead to such well deserved critical acclaim.
