Actress Jennifer Connelly was born in New York's on December 12, 1970. She happens to be the only child that was raised by her father Gerard who was raised in Brooklyn Heights. Gerard was a manufacturer of clothes, and Connelly's mother was an antique dealer. Her parents were Irish Catholic.


Jennifer Lynn Connelly is an actress who started out in the industry at a tender young age in American and has overcome several feets since then.  She first started modeling at the age of 10 years old.  Their family friend y used the Connelly family on the magazine covers of Muppet. The first movie she acted in was once Upon a Time in America at the age of 11 years old and appeared in nine movies before she was 20 years old.
Jennifer Connelly first started with the romantic comedy niche. She played a role of an affluent girl who was in love with a Janitor in the movie Career Opportunity in 1991. Being into the movie industry at that young age, Connelly was faced with a lot of challenges in deciding if acting was what she wanted or not. She performed the role of ballet routine in her first Hollywood movie. She got her lead role in English and Italian movies while she was still a teenager. As her fame grew with time she was making her mark in the movie industry.
Although she was so busy as an actress and a model in that young age, Connelly was still doing well in her education. Connelly attended Brooklyn's prestigious St. Ann's School, and after her graduation, she continuted on to the University of Yale, to study English. She had a transfer to Stanford University after two years where she studied Drama. Jennifer Connelly's studies and mental faculties were the dominant force for her successful transition from a teenager to mature actress. Even with her success in her early age, Connelly was still not familiar to the public until 2000 when she started in the movie Requiem for a Dream, which was written by Hubert Selby


In her breakthrough performance, Connelly acted the role of Marion Silver, who was an addict of hard drugs and an aspiring fashion designer who later went into prostitution because of her addiction. She was praised for the portrayal, and she was getting better with every movie she acted in.
The movie Requiem for a Dream was where she made her name known in the movie industry in addition to her pivotal roles in other movies like Beautiful Mind in the year 2001 and Blood Diamond. The movie was based on Sylvia Nasar's book that was authored in 1988; Connelly plays the role of a caring wife to a professor who was played by Russell Crowe. The film won four Academy Awards including Best Picture, and Connelly won 10 separate honors for her role, including a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.


Connelly was honored for ‘A Beautiful Mind’ with Academy Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe. The character she played was well portrayed and much accepted by the movie lovers. The character of ‘Alicia Nash’ that she portrayed in the movie was well received.
Many years after her successful career in the entertainment world as a model and actor, Connelly has metamorphosed into a leading and successful actor. She is still looking forward to expanding her success in the entertainment industry. Connelly was asked what she would love to achieve in the future, and she said she always wanted to play the role of an uneducated person.
